Owners of single-family homes, duplexes, triplexes, or fourplexes can apply online for a subsidy of up to $3,400 per property. This subsidy covers the installation of essential flood protection devices, including:
- Backwater valve installation: Prevents sewer backups during storms.
- Sump pump installation: Helps remove excess water from your basement.
- Severance and capping of storm sewer connections: Disconnects the home’s storm sewer or external weeping tile connection to the city system.
However, it’s important to note that disconnecting downspouts from your property’s eavestrough system is not eligible for a subsidy under this program.
